President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that it will be very difficult for Ukraine to survive without US military support, both in the present and after the current war ends, according to an interview with the head of state for NBC News.

"Probably it will be very, very, very difficult. And of course, in all the difficult situations, you have a chance. But we will have low chance, low chance, to survive without support of the US. I think it’s very important, critical," Zelenskyy said to the channel on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

He emphasized that he doesn't want to think about fighting Russia without American support, and he doesn't want to consider a scenario where Ukraine and the US are not strategic partners.

Zelenskyy also stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin calls for negotiations not to end the war, but to strike a ceasefire deal that would lift some sanctions and allow Russian troops to regroup.

On Friday in Munich, Zelenskyy held a productive meeting with the US delegation led by Vice President JD Vance. According to the president, both sides agreed to continue working on a document regarding economic partnership between the countries. Zelenskyy also noted that Ukraine is ready to move as quickly as possible towards real and guaranteed peace.

After the first day of the Munich Conference, the Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak stated that Zelenskyy was ready to meet with Putin. However, only when Ukraine is ready for negotiations.

"Readiness is absolutely clear when Ukraine has a strong position coordinated with the US and Europe, and when we understand what security guarantees we will have. That moment has not yet come," he explained.
