Ukraine urges US to speed up deliveries of anti-ballistic missiles

Ukraine urgently needs anti-ballistic missiles to strengthen its air defenses and has asked the United States to accelerate deliveries of PAC-3 interceptors and other critical systems, according to the Acting Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara.
Khmara stressed that Ukraine is doing everything possible to gain an advantage over Russia through the use of various types of drones, unmanned ground vehicles, and network-centric operations.
"Our critical need remains unchanged — protecting the sky. I requested the fastest possible delivery of PAC-3 and PAC-2 GEM-T interceptor missiles to counter Russian ballistic threats. Rapid deliveries of these missiles save Ukrainian lives, protect our cities, and preserve our defense industry," Khmara said.
The acting defense minister also discussed with US partners launching joint production and localization of Patriot missiles in Ukraine under agreements reached by the presidents of Ukraine and the United States.
"Another key area is mutually beneficial cooperation in drone technology. Ukraine is ready to share its unique experience of modern high-tech warfare with the United States," Khmara added.
Earlier, it was reported that companies manufacturing interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems are still in the early stages of planning production facilities in Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said the country expects to receive 300 Patriot missiles from its allies to strengthen air defenses ahead of the winter season.
