Ukraine to open new border crossing point with Romania, PM says
Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a resolution to open a new border crossing point between Ukraine and Romania, according to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
As he noted, one of the key priorities of the Cabinet of Ministers today is Ukraine's economy, including the growth of:
- logistics;
- export potential;
- business support programs.
"Today, Ukraine and Romania are building an extremely beneficial partnership, and we aim to continuously deepen it. We are adopting a resolution that will allow for the opening of a new Ukrainian-Romanian border crossing point, Bila Tserkva-Sighetu Marmaţiei," said the Prime Minister.
He also added that on the Western side, Ukraine plans to establish 9 new border crossing points and modernize another 13.
"All this will provide more opportunities for Ukrainian exports and accelerate our sectoral integration into the European Union," noted Shmyhal.
Opening new border crossings
As Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine - Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, Ukraine plans to open several new border crossing points this year to reduce the load on the Ukrainian-Polish border section.
It is expected that new border crossing points will appear on the borders with Hungary, Moldova, Romania, and Poland.
