Ukraine to extend martial law and mobilization again – Until when?

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has submitted draft laws to the Verkhovna Rada on extending the duration of martial law and mobilization in Ukraine.
Two draft laws were registered on the website of the Verkhovna Rada — No. 13471 and No. 13472:
-
on the approval of the Presidential Decree "On the extension of martial law in Ukraine";
-
on the approval of the Presidential Decree "On the extension of the general mobilization period."
Currently, martial law and mobilization in Ukraine are in effect until August 6. They are expected to be extended for another 90 days — from August 7, 2025, to November 5, 2025.
However, the draft laws must still be approved by the Verkhovna Rada.
Martial law and mobilization
With the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, martial law was introduced in Ukraine — a special legal regime applied in cases of armed aggression or threat of attack. Its purpose is to ensure the protection of the state's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Martial law grants expanded powers to government authorities, military command, local administrations, and self-government bodies. This enables effective coordination of the country’s defense and ensures the security of the population under threat.
The last time the Rada voted to extend martial law and mobilization was on April 16. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the respective laws on April 18.
