In the Sumy region, the deployment and enhancement of the system to counter enemy drones (UAVs), both strike and reconnaissance types, continues.
The Sumy Regional Military Administration stated that the authorities are working closely with military units to adapt the defense system to emerging threats.
Trained mobile units are already operational and delivering results - drones are being detected, jammed, and shot down. These are not isolated incidents, but rather part of a growing system that is strengthening by the day.
For security and strategic reasons, not all details are being disclosed publicly, but officials confirm that coordination with the military is functioning effectively.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russian forces are trying to show success in the Sumy direction, but despite intense shelling, the situation remains stable.
Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed he allegedly did not task his troops with occupying Sumy, but does not rule out such a scenario.
Notably, on the evening of June 20, Russian forces attacked a residential building in Sumy with a Lancet strike drone. At least one person was reported injured.
