Ukraine tests new AI system to help military make faster battlefield decisions

Ukraine is testing the SPECTR artificial intelligence platform, designed to help military headquarters process battlefield data and make decisions faster. The system is being developed by the A1 Artificial Intelligence Center at the Ministry of Defense, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
What SPECTR will do
The platform is intended to automate some of the routine tasks performed by military headquarters. It will process large volumes of information, identify patterns, and generate recommendations for the military.
The system is also expected to help assess possible courses of action and predict the enemy's likely moves.
Testing is already underway
SPECTR is being integrated into digital solutions already used by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Data will be processed in a secure environment.
The platform is currently being tested in several combat units.
Who is developing the system
SPECTR is being developed by the A1 Artificial Intelligence Center. The Ministry of Defense established it in March 2026 with the support of the UK government.
The project is part of a broader program to introduce artificial intelligence into the Ukrainian military. Its goal is to accelerate data-driven decision-making, improve the effectiveness of weapons systems, and reduce bureaucratic workload.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces already use more than 70 different systems based on artificial intelligence and computer vision technologies to strike enemy targets.
