Ukraine tests advanced drone command post for enhanced operational control
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, together with a Ukrainian manufacturer, has begun testing a command post for drone-equipped units. It is designed to operate both in stationary conditions and during movement, according to the Ministry of Defense.
It is noted that among the requirements set by the Ministry of Defense for the command post are maximum autonomy, modern communication, and electronic warfare (EW) systems.
The new model of equipment should provide control of unmanned systems units in all weather conditions, both in stationary conditions and during movement.
The command cabin will be equipped with automated workstations and an interactive panel. Commanders will have the ability to quickly analyze the situation and make decisions swiftly while managing drone units, enhancing their operational effectiveness.
A specialized, highly mobile transport vehicle will serve as the base for this innovative development. An all-wheel drive vehicle must solve the problem of sufficient maneuverability and movement of the command post in off-road conditions.
First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Ivan Havryliuk, noted that drone units have significantly expanded and require specialized combat control tools.
"The domestic weapons manufacturers proposed a technical solution to this request. The new model of equipment will undergo testing and be evaluated by commanders of combat units. If the development meets the requirements, it will be codified and enter mass production. We must maintain technological superiority over the enemy," he added.
Earlier we reported that the domestic drone aviation complex Shchedryk was officially approved for delivery to the units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Recently, tests of drones with fiber-optic communication systems were also completed in Ukraine.
