In Ukraine, a new line of UAVs with fiber optic communication has been tested. These drones ensure secure control even in conditions of active use of enemy electronic warfare systems, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

The "BLACK WIDOW WEB 10" kamikaze drone is capable of covering distances of over 5 kilometers without being affected by electronic warfare systems.

In addition, these UAVs can carry up to 2 kilograms of payload.

Ukraine's General Staff also stated that this project had already been approved within NATO standards, and its developers are nearing the completion of the process of obtaining Alliance codes for a whole series of UAVs.

Vitalii Dobrianskyi, Head of the Innovation Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, added that this project had resolved an important task: overcoming enemy electronic warfare systems when using drones.

"This is not just a new type of weapon – it's a window of opportunity for further research and development in the field of fiber-optic communication," stated the General Staff.

Ukraine's military also emphasized that this project had given a new direction to developing robotics and unmanned technologies.

The reports indicate that FPV drones with fiber-optic communication technology will become a problem for the enemy on the frontline.

Ukraine continues to implement new types of weaponry. Earlier, we reported on the features and technology of domestically produced missiles Peklo and Ruta and the laser air defense system Tryzub. Find out more details in our material.

As previously reported, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine had allocated nearly 2 billion hryvnias to purchase UAVs.
