Ukraine is ready for a full energy ceasefire with Russia if Moscow is genuinely committed to a truce in this area, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
According to the president, he held phone calls today with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
The talks focused on an energy ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia, which US President Donald Trump announced on October 11.
"Ukraine supports the ceasefire, and it is important that Russia support it as well," Zelenskyy stressed.
He added that Kyiv is now waiting for details from the American side.
"Ukraine always FULLY supports steps toward de-escalation, the protection of lives, and the decisions needed to end the war and guarantee lasting peace. Thank you!" Zelenskyy concluded.
It is important to note that on October 11, Trump unexpectedly announced an "energy ceasefire" between Ukraine and Russia.
However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy later said that no such agreement had been reached between Kyiv and Moscow.
He also noted that Ukraine was ready for an energy ceasefire if Russia agreed to do the same.
