Ukraine strikes Su-57 jets deep inside Russia in long-range attack

Ukraine’s General Staff has confirmed an operation aimed at reducing Russia’s strike capabilities, during which Russian military aircraft were hit at a distant airfield, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Su-57 and Su-34 aircraft hit
Ukrainian forces confirmed the results of actions aimed at weakening the enemy’s ability to carry out strikes on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine. The operation targeted Russian aviation assets.
Strike on airfield in Chelyabinsk region
According to available information, on April 25, 2026, at the Shagol airfield located in Russia’s Chelyabinsk region, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces struck several Su-57 fighter jets as well as one Su-34 fighter-bomber.
Distance to target and consequences
It is noted that the targets were located approximately 1,700 kilometers from Ukraine’s state border, indicating the long range of the operation. The extent of damage to the aircraft is currently being clarified.
We recall that new photos have appeared online showing the aftermath of a strike on the Tuapse oil refinery in Russia.
It should be noted that on the night of May 1, Russian forces once again used drones to attack Odesa, damaging residential high-rise buildings and sparking fires.
