Ukrainian forces carried out overnight strikes targeting a Russian Karakurt missile ship in Kaspiysk as well as several key Russian warehouses and command posts across different parts of the front line, according to Ukraine’s General Staff.

Strike on Russian warship and command posts

The military said Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully hit multiple enemy targets inside Russia and in occupied Ukrainian territories.

In particular, a Project 22800 Karakurt-class small missile ship was struck near the naval base in Kaspiysk, Dagestan. The vessel is capable of carrying Kalibr cruise missiles. The extent of the damage is still being clarified.

Ukraine also targeted a Russian command post in Sosnivka, located in the Luhansk region, as well as a drone control center near Yasne in the Donetsk region.

Ammunition depots and troop concentrations hit

Ukrainian forces additionally struck several Russian logistics facilities. An ammunition depot was hit in Kalmykivka, while a fuel and lubricant storage facility was attacked near Smolianynove in the Luhansk region.

The military also reported successful strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel near Dersove in the Donetsk region and Smile in the Zaporizhzhia region.

"The Defense Forces of Ukraine will continue systematically targeting enemy facilities until Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine is fully stopped," the General Staff said.

Previous strikes in the Caspian Sea

Ukraine has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to strike targets far behind Russian lines. On the night of December 19 last year, Ukrainian drones attacked a Russian vessel and a Lukoil platform in the Caspian Sea.

On April 10, 2026, Ukrainian forces also struck two Russian drilling platforms in the Caspian Sea that were supplying fuel to Russian troops. The drones traveled more than 1,000 kilometers.

Earlier, on December 12, 2025, Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces carried out a joint mission with the Russian resistance movement Chernaya Iskra, damaging two Russian vessels carrying weapons and military equipment, including the cargo ship Kompozitor Rakhmaninov.
