On the night of July 16, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck 6 tankers, 2 tugboats, an oil depot, bridges, and other Russian military facilities, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On the night of July 16, as part of efforts to reduce the Russian military and economic capabilities, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck many important Russian military and military-economic targets.

Specifically, 6 tankers and 2 tugboats were struck in the Black and Azov Seas.

The tankers are used to transport Russian oil and petroleum products in circumvention of international sanctions, as well as to transport fuel for the Russian Armed Forces.

The Shakhtarsk oil depot in Shakhtarsk, Donetsk region, was also struck. The extent of the damage and the results of the strike are being assessed.

In addition, a road bridge near Primorsk in Zaporizhzhia region and the Sivash railway bridge near Chonhar (Autonomous Republic of Crimea), which Russia uses for military logistics, were struck.

A warehouse containing Russia’s electronic warfare equipment near Novodariivka in the Luhansk region was also struck.

Strikes on Russian tankers

On the night of July 16, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Navy struck the Russian tankers Louise 1 and Banda, which are part of Russia’s shadow fleet.

Mamai maritime drones were used to strike Russian tankers.

The Louise 1 was involved in transporting Russian crude oil during the G7 and EU oil embargo.

As for the tanker Banda, it was also transporting Russian crude oil from the ports of Ust-Luga, Kerch, Novorossiysk, and Nakhodka.
