Ukrainian troops carried out missile strikes on the Oryol thermal power plant and the Novobryansk substation. Neptune missiles were used in the attack, according to the Ukrainian Navy.

As the Navy explained, these facilities supplied electricity to the region's military enterprises.

"Putting them out of operation is a serious blow to the occupiers' logistics," the military added.

Information about a strike on the Novobryansk substation, which is located near Bryansk, appeared online on the night of October 29.

Bryansk region governor Alexander Bogomaz stated that the region had allegedly been attacked by Ukrainian drones. Missiles were not mentioned.

Rumors about a strike on the Oryol CHP appeared today, October 31, during the night.

Oryol region governor Andrey Klychkov insisted that allegedly drone fragments fell on the CHP territory, as a result of which equipment was damaged.

About the Oryol CHP and the Novobryansk substation

The Oryol CHP is located in the city of Oryol (Oryol region) and functions as one of the region's key sources of electricity and heat supply.

The station provides about 40% of the Oryol region's electricity needs and 65% of the city of Oryol's heating needs.

The Novobryansk substation is among the five largest energy facilities in the Central Federal District.

It is part of the Bryansk power hub and distributes electricity that simultaneously arrives from three nuclear power plants — Kursk, Smolensk, and Novovoronezh.

The power supply of the Miratorg agroholding's enterprises and the Bryansk Machine-Building Plant, the main producer of diesel locomotives in Russia, depends on this substation's operation.

Earlier, Ukrainian defenders struck the dam of the Belgorod reservoir. Drones were used in that attack
