Ukraine won another medal at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China: Roman Shcherbatiuk confidently triumphed in the kickboxing final in the over 91 kg weight category.

The Ukrainian kickboxer claimed the gold medal at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu. In the decisive bout in the over 91 kg category, the 28-year-old athlete defeated Turkish competitor Emin Ozer with a score of 3:0.

This victory became Ukraine’s second consecutive triumph in kickboxing finals in Chengdu. Earlier, Hlib Mazur also took the championship title and climbed to the top of the podium.

For Shcherbatiuk, this is already his second World Games medal, as he won bronze in 2022.

Earlier, Ukrainian athletes Daryna Ivanova and Alina Martyniuk also stood out with victories in the bronze medal matches in WAKO kickboxing.

Ukrainian team in medal standings

The performances of Ukrainian athletes in Chengdu are delivering impressive results.

Overall, the Ukrainian team has already collected 13 gold, 9 silver, and 9 bronze medals.

With this record, the team ranks third in the overall medal standings, keeping a chance to rise even higher.
