Ukrainian kickboxer Hlib Mazur won a gold medal at the 2025 World Games, defeating Azerbaijani athlete Amin Guliyev in the final bout.

Final and achievements of Ukrainian athlete

The fight for first place in the 63.5 kg weight category turned out to be more challenging for the 22-year-old Mazur than his previous matches in the tournament. However, the Ukrainian managed to overcome Amin Guliyev from Azerbaijan with a score of 3:0 and step onto the highest podium.

Hlib Mazur is already the 2023 world champion and the 2022 and 2024 European champion. Now, his collection has been enriched with a gold medal from the 2025 World Games.

Ukrainian athletes on medal podium

Other Ukrainian kickboxers also stood out in the bronze medal bouts. Daryna Ivanova and Alina Martyniuk triumphed, winning bronze medals in their categories.

In addition, today, another Ukrainian athlete, Roman Shcherbatiuk, will compete for gold in his weight category. A victory for Shcherbatiuk would be another opportunity for Ukraine to increase its medal tally at the 2025 World Games.

Thus, the Ukrainian national team continues to show strong results at the World Games.
