Ukraine is not withdrawing its proposal for an Easter ceasefire, despite Moscow’s vague response, the President of Ukraine says during a conversation with journalists.

Moscow’s response to the proposal for an Easter ceasefire has remained unclear.

"We’ve all seen their response in the media: they seem to be unprepared for this. I don’t know how serious that response is," Zelenskyy says.

Ukraine has already conveyed its request to the American side. Whether the US will be able to get the message across to Moscow remains to be seen.

"Our proposal for an Easter ceasefire remains on the table," the President emphasizes.

Earlier, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine was ready for an Easter truce and proposed a temporary ceasefire as a signal toward a broader peace process.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin responded to the idea of an Easter truce, Moscow stated that it does not consider such a proposal sufficiently justified.

Zelenskyy also stressed that other signals were needed from Russia. Words alone are not enough.
