Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin will be forced to end the war in Ukraine when two factors converge: the illusion of possible victory and the cost of continuing the war, said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

The minister emphasized that at this stage of the war, two goals are critical: Ukraine must abandon its own illusions and deprive the enemy of theirs.

"Putin will have to stop this war when two factors are in place: he won’t have the illusion that he can somehow eventually win on the battlefield; the price of continuing the war for him and his regime will exceed the price of stopping it," Sybiha explained.

He added that the international community collectively has enough leverage to compel the Kremlin to stop this war.

"What we need is a turn from 'as long as it takes' to 'as strong as it gets,'" the Minister wrote.

Sybiha stressed that the modern arms race is not about nuclear weapons but about millions of inexpensive drones, and the side that can scale production faster will secure peace.

"This requires quick and sufficient funding for Ukraine’s defense industry, which is now the greatest source of defense innovation in the world," he said.

According to Sybiha, with sufficient funding, Ukraine could produce up to 20 million drones next year. If it gains an advantage, Putin could be forced to end the war.

"We are in a race against time. Both in resources and technology. We need to achieve parity and advantage to make Putin stop the war," the Ukrainian Foreign Minister concluded.

Putin intends to continue fighting

A few weeks ago, NBC News reported that US intelligence assessments indicate Putin is more determined than ever to continue the war against Ukraine and achieve victory on the battlefield.

About a week ago, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Putin is stuck in a military campaign against Ukraine and warned that he could target another European country even before the war in Ukraine ends.
