Ukraine has not received any official proposals from the United States or other partners regarding territorial concessions. And such statements in the media should be taken without unnecessary emotions, says Heorhii Tykhyi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

“We see these as general statements. We have not received any official proposals for concessions from the United States or other partners,” he emphasized.

According to him, statements in the media are often answers to journalists' questions and one should not draw far-reaching conclusions from them.

“What we see in the media is an information storm. We need to take it calmly, analyze actions, not words,” Tykhyi said.

He also emphasized that Ukraine's sovereignty within its internationally recognized borders is beyond question.

“Russia is illegally on Ukrainian soil. Ukraine is an integral state, and this is supported by the vast majority of UN member states,” Tykhyi summarized.

What US says about Ukraine's possible concessions

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said that peace between Ukraine and Russia would involve a kind of demarcation that neither side wants.

At the same time, US Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg admitted that Ukraine might have to make territorial concessions as a result of the peace process. He emphasized that the loss of territories does not have to be legally recognized.

For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy assured that Ukraine would never legally recognize the occupied territories as part of Russia.
