Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SSO) carried out a successful raid on an enemy group near the state border. As a result, four Russian soldiers were eliminated and another was taken prisoner, according to the Telegram channel of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Operators from one of the Special Operations Forces units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out an effective raid on an enemy position, eliminating four Russian servicemen and capturing another," the statement reads.

According to the military, operators from the SSO unit were conducting a special reconnaissance mission in a border area when they spotted enemy movement. Quickly assessing the tactical situation, they launched a precise and effective strike on the enemy position.

Following the successful operation, Ukrainian troops inspected the bodies of the dead and interrogated the captured soldier. The fighters also managed to intercept enemy radio communications, which will aid in further intelligence gathering and operational planning.

Russian offensive in the Sumy region

Russian invaders continue their attempts to carry out assault operations near the border in the Sumy region. However, Ukrainian defenders have managed to advance in the area of Oleksiivka, pushing the enemy farther from the city of Sumy.

On June 24, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported a significant decrease in Russian military activity in the Sumy direction. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed that he allegedly had not ordered his troops to capture Sumy, though he "does not rule out" such a scenario.

Last week, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that the Defense Forces had halted the enemy’s advance in the Sumy region, and this year’s wave of attempted "summer offensives" from Russian territory is faltering.
