Ukraine's Presidential Office outlines next steps in peace efforts following Zelenskyy-Trump talks

A Ukrainian delegation led by Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US President Donald Trump at the White House on July 28. The talks focused on security issues, diplomatic steps, and further progress in the negotiation process, according to a Telegram post by the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov.
Budanov reveals details of Zelenskyy-Trump talks
Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov said he took part in a meeting between the Ukrainian delegation led by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US President Donald Trump, and American officials at the White House.
According to him, the sides discussed further diplomatic steps and security issues aimed at bringing closer a just peace.
Ukraine and US to step up negotiation process
Budanov said Ukraine and its American partners share a common understanding of the need to end the war as soon as possible on fair terms.
"We held a substantive discussion on diplomatic and security steps needed to bring a just peace closer. Together with our American partners, we have a clear understanding of the need for the fastest possible and fair end to the war," the head of the President's Office wrote.
According to Budanov, the sides also agreed to intensify the negotiation process at all levels.
"We agreed to intensify the negotiation process at all levels," he said.
The head of the President's Office separately thanked the United States for its support of Ukraine.
"Thank you to the US for its unwavering support for Ukraine!" the statement said.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump held a meeting at the White House, where they discussed key issues of further cooperation. The main topics included strengthening Ukraine's air defence and steps toward achieving a peaceful settlement of the war.
