Russian equipment marked with red crosses was used for demining operations in Oleshky during the temporary ceasefire, states Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets during a press conference.
He explained that he urgently contacted the responsible official, adding that he had personally reviewed the video footage and held a meeting on the matter.
"The video clearly shows Russian military equipment marked with red crosses. This military equipment was used for demining under the clear supervision of the Ukrainian side," the ombudsman noted.
Lubinets emphasized that after the demining operations, the Russian military equipment returned to its original location.
What preceded this
Sky News journalist Azad Safarov reported that Russians used the humanitarian corridor in Oleshky for military purposes before, during, and after the evacuation.
According to him, the film crew observed Russian military personnel bringing heavy equipment into Oleshky and neighboring villages. Furthermore, they were transporting weapons, ammunition, military personnel, and food.
Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for Russian leader Vladimir Putin, stated that Moscow appreciated the humanitarian operation in Oleshky but does not currently plan to conduct similar operations in the future.
According to Lubinets, the bodies of deceased military personnel and civilians were removed from the city morgue during the ceasefire in Oleshky.
In addition, Ukraine plans to establish a Center for the Return of Civilians, which will be responsible for returning civilian citizens from temporarily occupied territories.
