Residents of the temporarily occupied city of Oleshky in the Kherson region who agree to leave during the ceasefire will first be transported to Russia or Crimea. Afterward, they will be able to return to Ukrainian-controlled territory, according to the Financial Times.
According to FT, evacuated residents will have the opportunity to travel to Ukrainian-controlled territory after arriving in Russia or on the occupied peninsula.
The FT recalled the words of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who emphasized that the Russian side would do everything possible to demine the area in such a way as to direct people specifically toward Russia.
The head of state stated that Russian forces plan to use this process for their own purposes. In particular, the enemy seeks to create the illusion that thousands of Ukrainian citizens are voluntarily choosing to leave for the aggressor state.
Davyd Arakhamia, head of the Servant of the People faction, stated that the ceasefire in southern Ukraine began at 3:00 AM Kyiv time today and will last until November 1.
Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the Russian president, stated the possibility of extending the peacekeeping initiatives of the US First Lady to other combat zones.
