Ukraine's night siege: 35 missiles downed
On the night of June 6, Russian forces launched an air attack on Ukraine, using X-101/X-555 cruise missiles. In a robust response, Ukraine's Air Defense Forces successfully neutralized every one of them.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Between the hours of 12:30 and 4:00 AM, six Tu-95MS strategic bombers deployed by Russia from the Caspian Sea unleashed a total of 35 cruise missiles toward Ukraine. Kyiv was the primary target. However, thanks to the alert and proficient response of the Ukrainian Air Force's defense mechanisms, all enemy targets were intercepted and destroyed.
Kyiv under attack
Late into the night of June 6, residents of the Kyiv region were shaken by explosions echoing across the region which were the Ukrainian air defense forces at work. Shortly after, a second air raid warning was issued.
On-ground reports from the Kyiv City Military Administration reveal the aftermath in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv, with missile debris scattered across roads, trolleybus service power lines damaged, and a store window partially shattered. Despite the chaos, the city's defense stood strong, successfully preventing any catastrophic damage.
