Ukraine's minister states majority of military drones produced domestically
Most of the drones used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces are manufactured in Ukraine, only a few models are imported, according to Ukraine's Minister for Strategic Industries, Oleksandr Kamyshin.
"This is good that the Ministry of Defense is increasing its procurement of drones. And I'm glad that the vast majority of drones being purchased for the defense forces are already manufactured in Ukraine," the statement reads.
According to Kamyshin, only a few models are now being imported.
"Our production is already capable of producing a decent quantity of drones made in Ukraine. From the smallest and cheapest FPV to long-range equivalents of Shaheds," the minister wrote.
He also adds that stable contracting would allow further expansion of production capacities.
Ukrainian drones
There are already over 20 new types of domestically manufactured drones in the arsenal of Ukraine's Armed Forces, a number that has significantly increased during the war.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated 40 billion hryvnias for investments in Ukrainian drone manufacturers.
Today, Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, announced that Ukrainian forces would receive many more drones in December. The Ministry of Defense has secured additional resources for drone procurement.
