Donald Trump's appointed Special Envoy for Russia and Ukraine, General Keith Kellogg, will visit Kyiv "in due time." The parties are currently working on determining the exact timeframe, the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform reports, citing Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha.

"We welcome all visits from our American friends. This is the first position. The second position is that we very much hope that after the inauguration, the first visits from the newly appointed administration - heads and leaders - will take place in Ukraine," Sybiha said.

According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Kellogg's visit is important for Ukraine. Andrii Sybiha is currently in contact with Kellogg's representatives to clearly define the visit's timeframe and ensure it is filled with productive discussions.

What precedes

In December of last year, Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Heorhii Tykhyi, confirmed the visit of Trump's Special Envoy. The date of Kellogg's arrival in Kyiv was reportedly already known, and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy also confirmed this information.

However, today, Reuters reported that the future Special Envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, postponed his introductory trip to Kyiv and other European capitals. The visit is now expected to take place after the inauguration of the elected US president.
