Donald Trump's future special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, has postponed a planned introductory trip to Kyiv and other European capitals. The visit is now expected to take place after the inauguration of the US president-elect, reports Reuters.

Four separate sources told Reuters that the visit had been postponed. Kellogg is now anticipated to travel to Ukraine after Trump's inauguration, although no specific date has been set. It remains unclear why the official from the incoming US administration has delayed the trip.

Reuters noted that retired Lieutenant-General Keith Kellogg, who is slated to serve as Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, had originally planned to visit Kyiv in early January. His team had also arranged meetings with officials in other European capitals, including Rome and Paris.

In mid-December, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi confirmed that Kellogg’s visit was being prepared, with a date already set at that time. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also confirmed the plans for the visit.

Additionally, on December 18, Keith Kellogg stated that Ukraine and Russia were allegedly ready to engage in peace negotiations.
