Intercepting jet-powered Shahed drones is a very difficult task. It requires a system that can maintain a high speed for long enough, according to an RBC-Ukraine report.

Military experts interviewed by the outlet agree that effective drones for countering jet-powered Shaheds need a powerful propulsion system, which consumes a lot of energy. As a result, the battery runs out much faster.

One option could be jet-powered interceptor drones. However, developing such a system is extremely challenging, and the requirements for its components are very high. This area is expected to develop, but for now, it mainly involves separate and limited experiments.

TAF Industries said that when assessing the effectiveness of jet-powered interceptors, their cost should not be compared with the cost of jet-powered Shaheds, but with the missiles used by conventional air defense systems to counter enemy drones.

The cost of such missiles can reach $4.5 million. Of course, some missiles cost less than $1 million, but even that is much more expensive than a single interceptor drone that can be used for this purpose.

During the war, Ukrainian drone manufacturers have built up logistics systems to ensure a steady supply of equipment to the front. They have also set up production processes for making large batches.

Major players in the drone market already have experience developing and scaling their own solutions in record time. This is one of the key advantages of Ukrainian manufacturers when working with international partners that invest in their companies or set up joint production facilities abroad.

Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that interceptor drones had made it harder for Ukrainian bomber drones to operate, but the Ukrainian Defense Forces have already found a way to counter them.

We also reported that US Central Command is creating its first multinational strike drone unit, called Falcon Strike. It will bring together the air, surface and underwater unmanned systems of US partners.
