The Kursk operation of the Defense Forces, which has been ongoing for half a year, has provided two important lessons to the international community. It has also revealed Putin's weakness, according to Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha on Twitter (X).

"Today marks six months since the Kursk operation exposed Putin’s weakness," he said.

According to Sybiha, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin tried to destroy Ukraine in a matter of days, but after several years, the war is now on Russian soil. Meanwhile, the Kursk operation has given the world two lessons.

"The first is not to be afraid of Putin; the second is to believe in Ukraine's ability to prevail," the Foreign Minister stated.

Ukrainian Armed Forces' offensive in the Kursk region

Since August 2024, Ukrainian forces have been conducting an offensive in the Kursk region. It is now known that the command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces thoroughly prepared for the Kursk operation. The generals took into account the experience of previous offensive operations.

In particular, the Special Operations Forces began conducting operations in the Kursk region several months before the Ukrainian offensive began. The main forces were brought in along pre-prepared routes.

In November 2024, during the third month of the Ukrainian offensive in the Kursk region, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that Russia's losses in this direction had already exceeded 20,000 soldiers. By the six-month mark, Russia had lost 40,000 soldiers in the Kursk direction.
