Ukraine's MFA head reveals obstacle preventing destruction of Crimean Bridge
The Crimean Bridge still stands as Ukraine lacks the weaponry to dismantle it. However, on the day of its elimination, the joy over this event will not be confined to Kyiv, states Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba.
The minister has been asked why the Crimean Bridge still stands, two years after the war. And whether there are any political or military reasons for this.
"For purely technical reasons. We need weapons that can effectively strike it, while avoiding Russian air defense systems," the minister replies.
He has added that on the day it is destroyed, there will be immense joy not only in Kyiv but also in many European capitals.
"We will open a bottle of excellent champagne," Kuleba added.
Defense Forces Strikes on the Crimean Bridge
The illegally constructed Crimean Bridge by the occupiers has been hit at least twice. In October 2022, powerful explosions occurred, causing significant damage. The head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), Vasyl Maliuk, confirmed that it was an operation by his special services.
Additionally, in July 2023, there was another attack on the Crimean Bridge, resulting in the destruction of two spans. The head of the SSU, Maliuk, also confirmed the involvement of the special services in this attack and noted that it was organized using Sea Baby drones.
