In December 2025, the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence special unit Freedom of Russia Legion successfully carried out an operation in the Kharkiv region, destroying a Russian field ammunition depot, according to the Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense.

Intelligence sources said the reconnaissance and sabotage team carried out an operation deep behind enemy lines in the Kharkiv region, penetrating over 7 kilometers, locating the depot, and destroying it with its security personnel.

"We completed the mission without any losses and effectively disrupted enemy supply lines," the Defense Intelligence's statement said.

The destroyed depot had supported the supply and rotation of Russian units near Kupiansk city, and its destruction significantly undermines the enemy's tactical resilience.

Previously, the Legion had paralyzed a logistics route in the Zaporizhzhia region, which supplied metal for military infrastructure in occupied Crimea.

Special forces also eliminated personnel at a UAV control post in the Pokrovsk direction, destroying both operators and the control equipment used for reconnaissance and fire adjustment.

"Our priority is to disrupt enemy command and logistics before the front line," the Legion emphasized.

The Freedom of Russia Legion continues to systematically target Russian military infrastructure on Russian territory, amplifying the effects of operations along Ukrainian directions.

The Legion has been operating behind Russian lines since late 2022, carrying out precision sabotage missions and strikes on enemy logistics. Previous operations included disabling key transport routes and enemy command facilities.

Earlier, volunteers reportedly destroyed a Russian stronghold during a border incursion.

Also, the Freedom of Russia Legion deployed surface vessels for the first time to strike occupying forces, marking a new phase in anti-Putin resistance.

Together with Defense Intelligence's special operations unit FERRATA, the volunteers opened a new front in confronting the Russian occupation, successfully carrying out operations on water.
