Ukraine’s intelligence responds to online reports of tension with Presidential Office

Rumors have appeared online claiming that Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (HUR) is in conflict with the Presidential Office. This information is fake, according to the HUR.
The agency noted that anonymous Telegram channels spread this fabrication, which shows signs of a planned information campaign aimed at discrediting Ukrainian intelligence services and destabilizing the situation inside the country.
"The information being spread about representatives of the HUR and the NGO Tin, as well as about an alleged conflict between the HUR and the Office of the President of Ukraine, is not true," the intelligence added.
They clarified that the purpose of such fakes is to create a false impression of internal political tension and instability in Ukraine.
Fake news about the secret Ukrainian presidential elections
Earlier, Ukraine’s intelligence agency also debunked a Russian fabrication claiming that secret presidential elections were supposedly held in the Alps.
Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service invented a story that the US and the UK had allegedly decided to nominate Ukraine’s ambassador to the UK, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, for the presidency.
Intelligence explained that Russia’s goal was to sow distrust within Ukraine’s leadership, increase tension in the country, and shift public attention toward the topic of elections.
