Ukraine's General Staff confirms destruction of Russian MiG-29 jet and Ka-27 helicopter

A Russian MiG-29 fighter jet and a Ka-27 helicopter will no longer be able to attack Ukraine. Both high-value aircraft were destroyed, according to Ukraine’s General Staff.
Ukraine destroys MiG-29 and Ka-27
The General Staff said that an analysis of additional data confirmed the destruction of a Ka-27 helicopter near the Yeysk airfield in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai. The incident occurred on August 30.
The destruction of a MiG-29 fighter jet near the Millerovo airfield in Russia’s Rostov region on August 27, 2026, was also confirmed.
Russian military depots hit
The General Staff also reported that the following enemy targets were hit on September 1 and during the night of September 2:
- an ammunition depot in Volodymyrivka, Donetsk region;
- a logistics depot belonging to a Russian army unit in Ocheretyne, Donetsk region;
- an area where enemy weapons and military equipment were concentrated in Rechitsa, Bryansk region, Russia.
The extent of the damage is still being assessed, the General Staff said.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that on August 22, Russia lost another combat aircraft in Crimea. A Su-24M and four pieces of airfield equipment were destroyed at the Saky airfield.
It was also reported that during the night of August 13, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck Russian military facilities in Russia and in occupied territories, including a Nebo-U radar system in Sevastopol, warehouses and a UAV command post.
