Ukraine's Foreign Minister updates on Zaluzhnyi's ambassadorship in Britain
Former Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, is currently preparing for his role as ambassador to the United Kingdom, reports Ukraine's Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba.
"This process (of preparation, - ed) is nearing the finish line," he said.
Kuleba noted the heightened interest in this topic but reminded that "all ambassadors are evaluated equally: by their results."
"So, I wish our new ambassador to the United Kingdom success and achievements in diplomatic work for our state," added the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Appointment of Zaluzhnyi as ambassador to Britain
On May 9, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree dismissing former Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Valerii Zaluzhnyi from military service. On the same day, it became known about Zaluzhnyi's appointment as ambassador to the United Kingdom.
Earlier, in February, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded former Chief of the AFU Valerii Zaluzhnyi and Chief of the General Staff Kyrylo Budanov the title of Hero of Ukraine.
