During Russia's attempts to seize the Ukrainian Armed Forces' position in the Kursk region in assaults with tanks and armored vehicles, the Ukrainian Defense Forces inflicted losses on Russian troops in both equipment and personnel. Ukrainian defenders showed footage of repulsing another Russian army, according to the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ukraine's Special Operations Forces, together with units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, repelled Russian attempts to storm one of the settlements in the Kursk region.

Thus, the drone crews of the Special Forces Operations hit 2 Russian tanks and 3 armored vehicles.

In addition, the Ukrainian Air Force operators killed four enemy soldiers who tried to storm the positions of Ukrainian defenders.

“We continue to work,” the Ukrainian Armed Forces added.

A video of the destruction of Russian equipment during the Russian assaults, which ended in a fiasco for the Russians, was posted online.

In the evening report on January 7, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that 159 combat engagements had taken place at the front since the beginning of the day. The military command also informed that Russians were actively attacking the Pokrovsk sector and the Kursk region.

On January 8, a report by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces had advanced in the Kursk region northwest of Sudzha. At the same time, the material also indicated that Russian troops had also advanced in the same area.
