Drone forces destroyed four North Korean Koksan self-propelled howitzers in Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia regions, according to a post by the 412th Nemesis Regiment on Telegram.

Ukrainian defenders destroyed artillery systems used by the aggressor country’s army.

Operators of the 412th Nemesis Regiment of the Unmanned Systems Forces identified and struck four North Korean M-1978 Koksan self-propelled howitzers in the Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia regions. One of them was destroyed in coordination with other Defense Forces units.

Since the start of the full-scale war, Ukrainian soldiers have destroyed over 25,000 Russian artillery systems.

What is known about the Koksan SPH

The North Korean M-1978 Koksan self-propelled howitzer is one of the longest-range artillery systems in the aggressor country’s arsenal. It is equipped with a 170-mm gun and can strike targets up to 60 km away.

The Russian army received these artillery systems from North Korea as military aid, allowing Russia to bolster its artillery capabilities amid significant losses of its military equipment in Ukraine.

According to official data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the aggressor country has lost 1,110,560 personnel in Ukraine since the start of the war. Daily personnel losses for Russia amount to 970.

Among enemy military equipment, the heaviest losses have been recorded in artillery — 33,311 units (27 in the past day), armored personnel carriers — 23,291 (+1), and tanks — 11,222 (+4).
