Ukraine's FM calls for new tough sanctions against Russia

Russia is not ready for negotiations, and the Kremlin's ultimatums regarding Ukraine are becoming increasingly absurd. Therefore, it is time for new tough sanctions, says Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha.
The diplomat noted that US President Donald Trump has recently made considerable efforts and devoted considerable time to bringing peace to Ukraine.
However, in response, the White House received a new set of old ultimatums from Moscow, which were recently announced by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
"Russia has not changed its aggressive goals and shows no signs of readiness for meaningful negotiations. To the contrary, their ultimatums get more insane," Sybiha writes.
The Minister adds that this position of Russia indicates the growth of the aggressor's so-called appetites if there is no resistance or force.
"It’s time to hit the Russian war machine with severe new sanctions and sober Moscow up," the Foreign Minister concludes.
New wave of sanctions against Russia
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov recently voiced Moscow's position on peace in Ukraine. Specifically, the Kremlin demands that the so-called new territorial realities and Ukraine's neutral, non-aligned status be enshrined.
Vladimir Putin spoke about Moscow's conditions for Ukraine at a meeting with US President Donald Trump on August 16 in Alaska.
The EU is preparing its nineteenth package of sanctions against Russia since the start of its full-scale war against Ukraine.
The US has also promised to impose additional restrictions on Russia amid new bombings of Ukrainian cities and towns by the aggressor.
