Ukraine, as part of the Drone deal, is offering the United States not only the sale of drones but also technologies, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in response to a question from an RBC-Ukraine correspondent.

Commenting on a report by Axios that the US last year declined Ukrainian technologies designed to counter Shahed drones, the President recalled the Drone deal and noted that the proposal is still relevant.

"It indeed includes all our drones and our technologies. In principle, this is what we will use to provide expert assistance to the Middle Eastern countries, but this proposal was made only to the United States. I don’t know whether they rejected it, I’m not sure, but it was definitely postponed," Zelenskyy added.

According to the head of state, he would like to sign such an agreement with US President Donald Trump. For Ukrainian companies, this would be very beneficial.

Drone deal

It became known last year that Ukraine had offered the United States a Drone deal.

By autumn, the two countries were reported to be in active negotiations over a strategic agreement.

The document provides for the supply of Ukrainian unmanned systems (UAVs, naval drones, and unmanned ground vehicles) for US needs in exchange for royalties, investments, and purchases of American weapons worth tens of billions of dollars.

Washington’s key interest lies in Ukraine’s unique battlefield experience and its ability to produce large numbers of low-cost drones.

The Pentagon views Ukrainian technologies as a critical element for the Replicator and Artemis initiatives aimed at preparing for a potential conflict with China in the Pacific region.

More details about the proposed agreement are available in the RBC-Ukraine report.
