The modernized Bars jet drone can carry up to 60 kg of explosives with a range of about 1,000 kilometers, as the developer told RBC-Ukraine.

"The development of the Bars began in 2023. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, our team has had the goal of being as coordinated with the military as possible. We began thinking about how we could provide our defense forces with a means that would give the Armed Forces of Ukraine the ability to truly deliver a devastating, qualified response," the developer of the Bars said.

The first Bars drones have a jet engine, a 22.5-kilogram warhead, and a range of up to 700 km. But he also emphasized that today it is already possible to talk about a range of up to 1,000 km, a warhead of up to 60 kg, and a speed of more than 700 km/h.

"Among us there were and still are people who were involved in aviation and aircraft modeling, hence the certain appearance of the Bars, which really looks like an airplane," the developer added.

He added that as of today, the localization level of the Bars stands at more than 74 percent. The only important component that is purchased is the turbojet engine, but an engine made in Ukraine has already passed final tests.

At the beginning of September, Ukrainian drones struck the Russian Kasta-2E2 radar station in the Zaporizhzhia region. Depending on its configuration, its estimated cost starts at $60 million.

On the night of September 3, the Defense Forces struck a Russian BK-16 landing craft in Sevastopol. The extent of the damage to the enemy vessel is currently being clarified.
