Media fuss is harmful for Ukraine's counteroffensive in Kherson region, says military staff

Announcements about the supposed advancement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region are harmful to the army. Ukrainian military urge to keep an information blackout, as Head of the United Coordinating Press Center of Security and Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine Natalia Humeniuk said to Ukrainian TV.
"We are greatly harmed by such discussions from analysts, speculations of 'what if.' We need to trust those who are carrying out this fight, listen to them, as they are people under enemy fire. In order to avoid tension and retaliation towards the civilian population, the information blackout exists," says Humeniuk.
At the same time, she does not deny that Ukrainian military forces did indeed conduct operations on the left bank of the Kherson region.
"The certain operations carried out in that area have already been completed. We continue our counter-battery fight, but the continued media fuss significantly harms our defenders who are currently under intense fire," the spokesperson explained.
She added that the defense forces in southern Ukraine continue their counter-battery fight, keeping their personnel. According to her, crossing to the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region means coming under enemy fire, so it's important to stick to the "logic of operations."

Recently, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), citing Russian sources, stated that Ukrainian forces landed on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region and allegedly broke through Russian defenses up to 800 meters. However, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense later denied the information about the alleged breakthrough.
Moreover, Ukraine's Defense Intelligence reported that reconnaissance fighters of the Shaman battalion conducted an operation on the left bank of the Kherson region and destroyed a unit of Russian missile forces.
