Ukraine's army chief visits Kursk area, makes key decisions
Ukraine's army chief Oleksandr Syrskyi visited the Kursk front. A series of decisions were made to prevent Russia from seizing the initiative, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"I worked with military units and subdivisions operating in the Sumy and Kursk regions. Despite all the enemy's attempts to seize the initiative, the situation remains under our control," he stated.
Specifically, Syrskyi carried out operations directly at the brigade command posts.
"Based on the assessment of the situation, I made a series of decisions aimed at preempting enemy actions and inflicting maximum losses on them. Despite the occupiers' advantage in personnel and equipment, the skill and professionalism of the Ukrainian military prevent the Russian aggressor from achieving their goals," the army chief noted.
Situation in the Kursk region
Ukrainian forces have been advancing in the Kursk region for several months. In mid-October, reports indicated that Russia intensified attacks on Ukrainian positions in the Kursk area, likely intending to drive the Ukrainian Armed Forces out of this stronghold. The occupiers are hurrying to execute their plans before the weather deteriorates.
According to Bloomberg, Ukraine may be able to hold its territory in the Kursk region for several more months. Notably, on October 20, it was reported that Ukrainian paratroopers stormed the positions of the occupiers in the Kursk region.
