Ukraine's Defense Forces have stabilized the situation in the Pokrovsk direction of the Donetsk region, according to Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

"The Pokrovsk direction is one of the most difficult sections of the front of the Russia-Ukraine war," wrote Syrskyi.

According to him, the soldiers of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were able to stabilize the situation in this operational zone in the Donetsk region and some places seize the tactical initiative.

Also, during a working trip to the troops, Syrskyi awarded the servicemen of the 425th regiment with honorary decorations of the Commander-in-Chief.

Pokrovsk direction

Later, it became known that the Ukrainian military managed to improve the situation in the Pokrovsk area.

But the commander of the artillery reconnaissance division of the separate artillery brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, Vitalii Lytvyn, said that Russian troops have intensified their assaults near Vozdvyzhenka to reach the Pokrovsk-Kostiantynivka highway. They want to advance to the Dnipropetrovsk region.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past day, the Ukrainian defenders in the Pokrovsk direction stopped 78 Russian attacks in the areas of the settlements of Sukha Balka, Stara Mykolaivka, Vodiane Druhe, Novotoretske, Shevchenko, Udachne, Uspenivka, Troitske, Kotliarivka, Bohdanivka, and Andriivka
