Ukraine's Armed Forces on Avdiivka battles: Situation stabilizing, but enemy has local successes

The situation in the Avdiivka direction is stabilizing. But Russian forces are experiencing local successes, according to the spokesperson for the Defense Forces of the Tavria sector, Dmytro Lykhoviy.
He noted that in the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 14 enemy attacks during the day.
"According to the confirmed data, in the area of the settlements that are of interest to everyone (Berdychi, Orlivka, Tonenke, - ed.), the operational situation is stabilizing. There, our forces are holding back the enemy within these settlements. Combat actions are ongoing," the spokesperson said.
Lykhoviy notes that there is no reason to talk about the capture of the mentioned settlements.
"The line of contact has its dynamics. The enemy sometimes achieves local successes regarding certain positions. For example, when firing positions are simply destroyed by artillery, then the personnel regroups, withdraws to other more advantageous positions," he explained.
What's happening on the front
Russian occupiers have intensified attacks on the front. In particular, the Russian military managed to capture Avdiivka and some neighboring villages. However, Defense Forces have ousted the enemy from Orlivka and Krasnohorivka in eastern Ukraine.
Earlier, the spokesperson of the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Group of troops, Illia Yevlash reported that the occupiers were seeking to capture Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region, and battles were already taking place in the neighboring settlements of Ivanivske and Bohdanivka.
At the same time, according to the latest data, occupiers have slightly eased pressure in the Kupiansk direction.
