On the night of August 27, the Air Force of Ukraine repelled a massive attack. The Russian troops launched 95 Russian drones and decoy UAVs against Ukraine, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On the night of August 27, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with 95 Shahed-type strike UAVs and various types of decoy drones.

Enemy attacks came simultaneously from several directions, in particular:

  • Kursk,
  • Millerovo,
  • Oryol,
  • Primorsko-Akhtarsk,
  • Chauda.

The air raid was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare, and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data, as of 9:00 a.m. (Kyiv time), air defense shot down and suppressed 74 enemy Shaheds and various types of decoy drones, which is 78% of the total number of drones launched.

Enemy attacks focused on the north, south, and east of the country.. At present, it is reported that 21 enemy UAVs hit 9 locations.

Frontline situation

During the past day, August 26, Ukrainian forces recorded 173 combat clashes. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine provided a detailed account of the situation on each front line direction, as well as published battle maps.

According to the General Staff, the losses of the Russians over the past day amounted to nearly one thousand personnel.

Moreover, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed a tank, 45 artillery systems, an air defense system, 194 drones, and 118 units of motor vehicles.
