Ukraine's Air Force destroys 34 Russian air targets in overnight attack

On the night of August 13, Russia attacked Ukraine with 49 Shahed kamikaze drones and decoy drones, as well as two ballistic missiles. The Air Force shot down or suppressed most of the targets, the Air Force of Ukraine reports.
According to the Ukrainian military, on the night of August 13, the enemy attacked Ukraine with:
- 49 strike drones of the Shahed type and various types of decoy drones;
- 2 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles.
Enemy drones were launched from the directions of Kursk region, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Shatalovo, while the missiles were launched only from the Kursk region.
In total, during the night, strike drones attacked the Donetsk, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions, and the enemy struck Poltava region with missiles.
The Air Force noted that this attack was repelled by:
- aviation,
- anti-aircraft missile forces,
- electronic warfare and unmanned systems units,
- mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m. Kyiv time, air defense shot down and suppressed 34 enemy targets, including:
- 2 ballistic missiles;
- 32 drones.
However, despite the work of air defense, 17 drones hit 15 locations.
Shelling of Ukraine
On the night of Wednesday, August 13, explosions sounded in Kremenchuk, the Poltava region, amid the threat of ballistic strikes.
Earlier, on the night of August 12, Russian forces struck the Dnipropetrovsk region late into the evening and in the morning.
As a result, houses in the region were damaged, a fire broke out, and there were even reports of a casualty.
