"There is no updated information. The meeting was expected between the fifth and eighth… approximately the fifth or sixth… of March. The meeting was planned in Abu Dhabi," Zelenskyy said.
According to him, due to ongoing hostilities, it cannot yet be confirmed that the meeting will be held specifically in Abu Dhabi, but it has not been canceled.
"The meeting must take place, it is important for us, we support it. The meeting is important, the results are important, and the exchange is very important," the president added.
What is known about the Ukraine-Russia talks
Since the beginning of 2026, Ukraine has held several rounds of negotiations with Russia. The key unresolved issue remains control over the unoccupied territories of Donbas.
Russia insists on the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops, Ukraine proposes freezing positions along the current front line, and the United States advocates creating a free economic zone in those territories.
According to Bloomberg, citing informed sources, the next round of talks is expected to take place on March 4–5 and could be decisive.
Earlier, Reuters reported that Ukraine and the United States had discussed the possibility of reaching a peace agreement with Russia as early as March this year.
