Ukraine, Russia hold fourth prisoner exchange in one week: Who's back

Ukraine and Russia conducted a new prisoner exchange on Saturday, June 14. This marks the fourth exchange in a week, according to the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s statement on Telegram.
The head of state noted that among those released were many who had been held captive since 2022. These include soldiers from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service, and the State Special Transport Service.

The Coordination Headquarters for Prisoner Affairs clarified that those returned home include servicemen with injuries and health issues. A significant number of the released defenders were captured during the defense of Mariupol.
Most of the soldiers freed today are officers. Some of the released are under 25 years old.
The Ukrainians returning home fought on the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Kherson, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Kursk fronts.

Human rights ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reported that the oldest returned soldier is 63 years old, and the youngest is 21. Among those released are some who had been considered missing in action.
Prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia
During the second round of talks in Istanbul, Ukraine and Russia agreed on a large-scale prisoner exchange. The parties agreed to exchange wounded and seriously ill prisoners of war, as well as all military personnel aged 18 to 25.
The first stage of the major exchange took place on June 9. Additional exchanges occurred on June 10 and 12.
Additionally, Ukraine and Russia agreed on a 6000 for 6000 exchange of bodies of the deceased. Returns of bodies took place on June 11, 13, and also today, June 14. In total, more than 3,600 bodies have been returned to Ukraine so far.
