Ukraine managed to bring back three children and their mother from occupation. They had lived in the occupied territories for about a year, according to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, on Telegram.

He noted that while the children were in the temporarily occupied territories, they were in dangerous conditions. In particular, the mother was threatened with having her children taken away, and the minors were forced to study according to Russian educational standards. This situation lasted for nearly a year in the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk region.

"After the relatives reached out to the Ombudsman's Office, preparations for their return began immediately," Lubinets clarified.

According to him, the Caritas Ukraine and Rokada charitable foundations managed to organize a safe route for this family and provide for their humanitarian needs in the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government.

Background

Ukraine has repeatedly organized the return of Ukrainian children from occupation.

For instance, on September 27, it was reported that nine children had been returned to Ukrainian-controlled territory.

Additionally, a Qatari official recently mentioned that Ukraine and Russia had reached an agreement on the exchange of thirteen children.
