Ukraine receives thousands of solar panels for hospitals from EU
Ukraine has received about 5.8 thousand solar panels with a total capacity of about 2 MW for hospitals as part of the European Commission's Ray of Hope project, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy.
The initiative was previously announced by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
The energy equipment will be delivered to healthcare facilities in Zhytomyr, Lutsk, Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv, and Odesa regions.
Additional equipment for the installation of solar panels will be purchased at the expense of the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine. In the future, the number of healthcare facilities that will receive the equipment will increase, the press service says.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine has an action plan in case of prolonged power outages. It includes the provision of generators for medical facilities and critical infrastructure and the operation of invincibility points.
The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has provided all Ukrainian hospitals with generators. They are to ensure the operation of the facilities in case of blackouts.
