Ukraine ready to help France battling devastating wildfires, Zelenskyy says

Ukraine is ready to help France combat the massive wildfires currently raging in the country, says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
On July 29, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed details of his phone conversation with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.
"Emmanuel told me about the large-scale wildfires in France. Ukraine is always ready to help those who have supported us throughout these years of our fight against Russian aggression. I offered France our assistance," Zelenskyy says.
According to him, Ukrainian specialists can join the firefighting efforts.
In addition, the President of Ukraine shared with Macron details of the meetings at the White House and the US Senate that took place on July 28.
Zelenskyy believes it is important to seize every opportunity that can bring Ukraine closer to peace, as well as to coordinate joint actions.
"We also discussed in detail preparations for winter – the delivery of essential energy and air defense packages. France will work to find solutions to support Ukraine," Zelenskyy concludes.
Macron convened an emergency meeting due to the massive wildfires in France. Tens of thousands of hectares of forest are burning across the country, and people are being evacuated en masse.
Against the backdrop of recent events, meteorologists have warned of a return of extreme heat. This means that the risk of new wildfires in France remains very high.
