Ukraine ready to assist in Hormuz Strait as Zelenskyy orders military review

"Regarding two directions in the region, there are requests from the American side for expert support for their military. We are also working on requests from European partners whose forces are based in this region," his statement said.

Zelenskyy stressed that he instructed Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov to involve the Ukrainian military and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assess international initiatives regarding the Hormuz Strait and the readiness of countries to participate in stabilization missions.

"Our teams are already working with five countries on countering Shahed drones — expert assessments have been provided, and we are helping to build a defense system. There are additional requests from other countries," the president emphasized.

Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine is interested in the fastest possible stabilization of the situation in the Middle East. He noted that the "principled position" of Kyiv is the inadmissibility of any success of the Iranian regime, which is a long-standing ally of Russia.

"In the near future, I expect concrete results of the assessment. It is important that the global importance of Ukraine in ensuring security and quality of Ukrainian security expertise for protecting lives is recognized by all partners," the president's statement said.

Ukraine has the greatest experience in the world in countering strike drones. Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that without it, the United States and partners in the Middle East will find it very difficult to build a strong defense.

In addition, recently, the president of Ukraine said that he had sent three teams of Shahed specialists to the Middle East — to Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
